American Swiss artist Christian Marclay is perhaps best known for his monumental video collage work The Clock that proved to be an international success in 2011. Another iconic work in Marclay's oeuvre, Telephones uses the narrative arc of the telephone call, and with a cast of well-known movie characters, features deconstructed film clips sourced from over 130 classic Hollywood films. Woven together, the result is a masterful cinematic collage spanning several genres.
