This installation from Western Australian artist Simon Gilby, comprises ten life-sized sculptures, each based around the human form.

Together the figures work as a group of intersecting characters. The sculptures are principally made from etched, welded and forged steel, combined with other materials. The human scale of the works invites the audience to become a part of the dialogue of the installation.

“Though some of the imagery tends towards the darkly gothic, the overall exhibition intends to express a hopeful yet conflicted humanity” – Simon Gilby, 2009.

The Syndicate is a sculptural installation by Simon Gilby. The tour is managed by ART ON THE MOVE The National Exhibitions Touring Structure for WA Inc. This exhibition is supported by Visions of Australia.
